Blizzard TF2 is worth playing, at least worth checking out.

I just can't see what is making this "exciting".

It seems like an FPS by numbers really

It's by Blizzard, that makes it exciting.

Class based FPS, but yeah.

Also, this is the first time I really notice that it isn't a free to play game. I really would've thought they'd have gone the Hearthstone /Heroes of the Storm route with this, but they haven't. Odd.

Makes it slightly less appealing to jump in to.

Apparently they did this because they feel that needing to unlock characters would take away from the experience. Each character is very different, and very situational. Overwatch really isn't a game where you pick a class at the beginning of a round and stick with it till the end. You pick a character, then see what the enemy does. If you have the upper hand and the enemy knows what they're doing, they will adjust their squad to counter your strengths, at which point your team will adjust, etc. etc.

If some of the characters would need to be unlocked, this would put a new player at a distinct disadvantage when facing a more experienced enemy team. Hence, not free to play, no unlock, you cough up the dough and you can play.

I've been in the closed beta for a while now, and while it is fun I'm not sure I'd buy it when it eventually launches. Maybe better when you have a group of friend to form a team with (but then, what game isn't amirite)

*edit: also sorry for necropost

Loving Overwatch atm, each game only lasting a max of 10 minutes from Def to Atk is pretty amazing. I can see it being a huge money and time sink when you can buy cosmetic stuff but shit, I die for that kind of stuff.

It def requires a squad of folks though, some pug setups are just hellish and the smallest amount of co-ord will be great.

If anyone is in the closed beta and wants to play - holla.

Can you find the specs needed? (gaming blocked at work). Don't think it will run on my laptop
